Speciality Molecules Ltd. (SML) is a company engaged in the manufacturing of Fine Chemicals used by Life Science Industry including Pharma, Agro & Cosmetic Industry. SML has niche expertise in continuous Vapor Phase halogenation reaction.
Speciality Molecules Ltd. is an ISO 9001-2000 Company.
SML has world class technologies to manufacture 2-Chloro Pyridine, 2-Bromo Pyridine & 2,6-Dichloro Pyridine among the 18 products developed and 11 are already commercialized till now.
In the year 2000, the company was awarded the "ACHARYA P.C. RAY AWARD" for developing indigenous technology, to manufacture 2-Chloro Pyridine for the first time in India at commercial scale.

MANAGEMENT

During May 2008, Jubilant Organosys Ltd. (JOL) acquired SMPL which is now operating as 100% subsidiary of JOL.
Jubilant Organosys Limited (JOL) is one of the largest CRAMS (Custom Research and Manufacturing Services) in India offering Products and Services to Life Science Industries. Jubilant has a leadership position in the world in Pyridines, Picoline and its advance derivatives (Fine Chemicals). In Fine Chemicals Business, JOL has developed 150 products and 40 are already commercialized. End-use of these commercial products are in 124 APIs, 14 Agrochemicals and 10 in other industries. The present CEO & Director on board, Mr. Pream Kumar Yedaty is associated with the Company since the inception of these products. He is a technocrat having 25 years of industrial experience with a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Technology from one of the prestigious institute i.e UDCT, Mumbai. |

After the acquisition of SML both companies combined have a unique position in the world to offer the products (2-Chloro Pyridines, 2-Bromo Pyridine, 2,6-Dichloro Pyridines and many other products) of SML having a complete backward integration to key raw materials making SML as a reliable, consistent, cost effective & quality supplier of these products.
JOL & SML have together an aggressive expansion plan to enhance the capacities to achieve global leadership position in these products segments. |

ENVIRONMENT

Speciality Molecules Ltd. places great emphasis on environmental issues. We have an ongoing waste recycle program and the membership of the Local Common Effluent Treatment plant where the secondary and post treatment of effluents is carried out. Our unit has a full fledged Effluent Treatment Plant & the factory is also equipped with Gas Scrubbers, Biological wastewater treatment and other technical means to prevent air and water pollution.
SML is member of the Mumbai Waste Management Ltd. and Trance Thane Creek Management Association. |
